FrankenStitch
Sustainable, Inclusive, Adventurous
Welcome to FrankenStitch!
Perfectly imperfect, upcycled gender-neutral threads
But it isn’t just about clothing—it’s about creating a movement towards a more sustainable and inclusive fashion industry. We aim to bridge the gap for non-binary individuals by creating clothing that respects diverse body types and gender expressions by using materials already in existance.
In mid-2023, amidst the creative chaos of our head designers studio, FrankenStitch was born. The name reflects the essence of upcycling—combining fragments of discarded materials into fresh, unique creations. Our mascot, Stitch the platypus, symbolizes this spirit of transformation, embodying the idea of taking different elements and weaving them into something extraordinary.
Our garments are crafted from a mix of materials, including denim coffee sacks donated by Ripe Coffee, discarded jeans and tees and tartan from kilts. Each piece that is created tells a story of creativity and sustainability. We have taken part in some cool collabs like our project with Hanzmonstas, where we bought new life to their decommissioned tees.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. Together, let’s embrace a future where fashion and sustainability go hand in hand, where beauty is redefined, an individuals uniqueness is celebrated and where every choice we make contributes to a better world.
Circularity
At FrankenStitch, we believe in taking responsibility for our garments, for life.
This means that they are deisgned and crafted with durability in mind. It also means that once they’re in your hot little hands, we will continue the partnership with you by providing after-purchase care.
• Free Repairs, for Life!
With each purchase of overalls, we have included 2x free repair patches.
However, if do it yourself isnt your thing, we are happy to repair ourselves, for you, for free!
Our garments are designed with the patch look as part of the aesthetic. With our garments being upcycled, alot of them have already had rips and tears repaired any way so sewing one of our patches over, just adds to the look!
If you are interested in accessing this service, we do ask that you clean the item before sending to us and include a postage paid envelope in your package for us to send back to you.
• Return to Us
If the time comes that you feel your garment is no longer wearable (hay, it happens, these are made for adventures after all!!), we will accept them back and re-upcycle them or dispose of responsibly.
Meet Stitch!
Stitch is our quirky and passionate mascot. Pronouns – They/Them (of course)
They’re a platypus, the planets’ ultimate frankenstitch-ed mammal, parts taken from all different animals. You might think this may mean at times they are looked at as a “freak”, a creature outside the norm, one that doesn’t quite look like they fit in and quite frankly, you would be right.
Stitch believes that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and forms and refuses to comply to a society that does not recognise this. Stitch represents a celebration of our differences and that fashion is about self-expression and comfort, not about conformity and rejection.
Stitch believes that fashion can heal, not harm, both the planet and us, fighting against fast fashion, challenging gender stereotypes, breaking down barriers and working towards a more sustainable and inclusive fashion industry, and world.
It can be done, one Stitch at a time.
